LA Metro Security Officers Ratify Five-Year Agreement

94% of the LA County Metropolitan Authority Transit Security Officers

Pass New Contract

The Transit Security Officers of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority overwhelmingly voted to accept a new contract with 94% of those voting in favor of ratification on Thursday, July 6, 2017.

The five-year deal includes guaranteed yearly wage increases, yearly increases to the health and welfare cap, and an increase to the uniform allowance.

“We’ve represented the Transit Security Officers for over 30 years,” said Raymond Whitmer, Teamsters Local 911 Secretary-Treasurer.  “These workers deserve their wage increases and this strong contract. They’re invaluable work keeps our community safe.”

“Whether it be the benefits or the wage increases, this contract helps all of the Transit Security Officers of Los Angeles County Metro,” said Nicholas Romero, Senior Officer.

“I have been part of many negotiations here at LA Metro and this is one of the best agreements I have seen” said Martin Macias, Transit Security Officer.  “I am proud to be part of my colleagues and the Teamsters for their great work.”
