Celebrate International Women's Day

Happy International Women’s Day to the hardworking women of Teamsters Local 911! International Women’s Day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This special holiday has been observed for over a century, born out of the struggle of women garment workers fighting inequality and demanding better pay and dignity in the workplace.

Time and time again, Union membership has proven to be the answer to fight inequality and discrimination. In the Teamsters, our grievance procedures combat gender discrimination in the workplace and our negotiated contracts standardize wages so women and men receive equal pay for equal work. When we stand together as Teamsters, we have the power to create a workplace free of discrimination.

Let’s recommit to standing together as Teamsters to help women and men alike for higher wages, better benefits, and safer workplaces.
